1) By providing rule-based explanations it allows us to be protected by the language in the book. You are the expert at this. Not them.⁣

2) Finding the balance between sharing your knowledge and not sounding robotic will add more believability to your appearance.⁣

3) Maintaining eye contact throughout the full conversation will add more strength and court presence and show that you care what they have to say.⁣

4) Asking questions allows you to shift the conversation and regain control of the dialogue. When you ask the coach a question it reverses the dynamic and makes the relationship between coach and official more even and less one-sided
